About Fisl 12

Since 2000, and the first edition of the International Free Software Forum (fisl), we have experienced eleven years of hard work, immense collaboration and the involvement of thousands of people who truly believe in free software and the strength of a real sense of community. Thanks to the work and commitment of this increasingly larger and stronger community, we have managed to create the biggest free software event in Latin America and, each year, we have managed to set Porto Alegre as the stage for bringing together a public driven by ideas, innovative outlooks and motivation. Because of all the people that stand behind the same ideals as we do – free knowledge, sharing and liberty –, we have striven to organize an event that is bigger and better with each passing year.

And it is with this in mind that we proudly present fisl12; an event jam-packed with attractions, lectures, workshops, demonstrations and presentations. Check out the latest news on the site, sign up and take part! From June 29 through July 2, 2011, fisl12 will be hosted at the PUC Events Center, in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
