05 Jan 09 - Film is NOT dead.... nor will it ever be, contrary to what some folks believe.
Here is a place for you to submit any kind of film format; be it 35mm, 120, 620, 110, 126, & 127, ect. Whatever strikes your fancy... If this sounds like a group that you would like become a part of, just read the rules below, and then enjoy.
Oh yeah, one more thing- I would really like to see the photos that you are extremely proud of. Descriptions of cameras, settings, & film used, are also helpful.

Thanks!

About Long Live FILM- a worldwide revolution

Come along on a journey with us, exploring the realm of the newly founded renaissance of analog film & photography
If you are one of the growing numbers of photography amateurs or professionals, that lately have found yourself growing sick of the sheer bombasity and snootiness of certain digital SLR owners, then this is the new hot spot to showcase your favorite FILM pix. Did you know that a great proportion of these "photographers," have never shot analog film during their short lived life span? In fact, there exists a large demographic of young shooters who have never even used a viewfinder. How lame is that?

Once again, here is a home for all of you rebelling against the staleness & sheer sterility of digital photography. As the creator of this group, I do not see anything wrong with using photo editing software to hone your analog film results. But that is as far as it goes... no HDR, or any other fancy, schmancy grandiose cheating at your finished FILM vision.
*see disclaimer below

This is a group that will celebrate in good humor, our own artistic capabilities- in this case, the tangible format of real film. And as the Administrator, my intention for this group is for all of us to come closer to the film experience, and learn from one another's achievements, as well as experimental failures.

Just a few simple rules:
One thing I would like to prohibit from this group are Polaroids. There are already many other groups for that particular film format.

The obvious - NO DIGITAL :)

Be kind enough to comment on a photo now & again. Although I've heard that it is better to give than to receive, I know we all LOVE comments on our pictures.

And one other thing please..... I would like this to be something of a PG rated group. We do not care to see your flabby pornographic snaps, or even beautiful nudes, for that matter. As I have stated before- there are already other groups for those topics.

DISCLAIMER: my group description is in no way meant to be offensive to any of my pals & contacts who shoot digital. The photog's I have referred to above, are not any of y'all who were invited here in the first place. Peace & Group Hugs- DMD
