About The Film Fanciers’ Guild

Love the chemical perfume that wafts out of a new 35mm film canister, think the more grain the better, hoard discontinued film, or disappoint small children who want to look at the back of your camera?

If you find yourself nodding in agreement to any of the above, we invite you to become a charter member of The Film Fanciers’ Guild (The "FFG"). Our creed? To celebrate the beauty of all things film, to raise our fists to the sky and proclaim that "film is not dead!"

Flickr and Lomography
For our first foray, we’ve teamed up with our friends at the Lomographic Society International (LSI) to spread the word that film isn’t dead!

The photos that you upload to Film Fanciers' Guild between now and August 25th have the chance to be shown at this year’s Photokina conference in Cologne, Germany, where Lomography is building a “Lomowall” as the highlight of their the “Future is Analogue” exhibition. The Lomowall will be created from over 100,000 film photographs and exhibited at Photokina, the world’s biggest photo-imaging event, from September 23rd – 28th 2008. Please see the group rules for more.

Here some quick guidelines and notes: The shots should be at least 1800 pixels wide on one side and you have to submit your shots by Monday August 25th. So act fast.

You can find out more about Lomography here.
