Bydd Canolfan Mileniwm Cymru a NIACE Dysgu Cymru yn cydweithio ar arddangosfa o’r enw Heneiddio Heb Boeni | Growing Old Disgracefully. Mae’n rhan o ŵyl Gwanwyn, sy’n dathlu creadigrwydd mewn blynyddoedd hŷn. Mae’r prosiect wedi’i addasu o gystadleuaeth y gwnaeth NIACE ei chynnal yn 2009 gyda’r bwriad o herio’r hyn mae pobl yn ei feddwl am rai ym mlynyddoedd hŷn eu bywydau. Bydd Heneiddio Heb Boeni | Growing Old Disgracefully yn rhedeg trwy gydol mis Mai yng Nghanolfan Mileniwm Cymru, a bydd detholiad o ffotograffau digidol gan y cyhoedd yng Nghymru yn rhan o’r arddangosfa. Rydyn ni’n chwilio am luniau o bobl hŷn yn dysgu ac yn gwneud gweithgareddau na fyddech chi’n disgwyl. Gallan nhw fod yn DJ’io, ar fwrdd sglefrio, yn trydar ar Twitter neu’n dawnsio stryd. Os ydych chi’n un o’r genhedlaeth hŷn, neu’n adnabod rhywun hŷn sydd â hobi annisgwyl, neu ddiddordeb anturus, anfonwch eich lluniau i’r gystadleuaeth.

Gall unrhyw un, o unrhyw oed, anfon ffotos i mewn. Ond mae’n rhaid i rywun hŷn fod yn y llun. Mae’n rhaid i’r ffotograffydd gael caniatâd yr un fydd yn y llun, felly eich dewis chi yw sut byddech chi’n dehongli “hŷn”.

Canllawiau \ Rheolau:
1.Mae’r gystadleuaeth yn agored i ffotograffwyr o bob oed, ond mae’n rhaid i’r lluniau gynnwys pobl hŷn
2.Dyddiad Cau cyflwyno’r lluniau yw dydd Imawrth 6 Ebrill
3.Bydd panel beirniadu, fydd yn cynnwys rhai pobl hŷn, yn dewis detholiad o’r lluniau i greu’r arddangosfa yng Nghanolfan Mileniwm Cymru
4.Mae’n rhaid i’r unigolyn/unigolion yn y llun fod wedi rhoi caniatâd i’r ffotograffydd dynnu’r llun a’i gynnwys yn yr arddangosfa
5.Er mwyn iddo gael ei ddefnyddio yn yr arddangosfa, yn ddelfrydol byddai’r ffoto o leiaf 2MB o ran maint (bydd Flickr yn newid y maint wrth eu llwytho i’r gystadleuaeth)
6.Mae cyfle i’r ffotograffau fod yn ddoniol, ond ni ddylent fod yn amharchus
7.Mae’r Ganolfan yn cadw’r hawl i beidio arddangos ceisiadau

Wales Millennium Centre and NIACE Dysgu Cymru are pleased to be working together on the exhibition Growing Old Disgracefully as part of the Gwanwyn Festival celebrating creativity in older age.
The project is adapted from the NIACE competition which ran in 2009, intended to challenge perceptions of later life. Examples from the original competition can be seen on line at www.flickr.com/groups/ffotosgrowingold/ as can full details of the new competition.

Growing Old Disgracefully will be shown throughout May at the Wales Millennium Centre and will feature selected digital photographs submitted by members of the public from all over Wales. We are looking for photographs of older people learning and doing surprising activities. So from zorbing, break dancing and skydiving to tweeting, DJ’ing and skateboarding, if you are, or you know, a member of the older generation that has a quirky, unexpected or adventurous hobby or has the urge to learn one, then this is the challenge for you.

Photographs may be submitted by any age group but must be of an older person. The photographer must have the permission of the subject to be photographed so we will leave it to them to define “older”.


Timetable

Entries are open now and the closing date is 6th April.
April – May – Judging and framing
May – Exhibition opens and is displayed at Wales Millennium Centre

Guidelines / Rules for entries:
1.This competition is open to photographers of all age ranges but must feature older people
2.The deadline for entries is Tuesday 6th April
3.A judging panel, including some older people, will choose a selection of the photos to be made into an exhibition to be displayed in Wales Millennium Centre
4.The subject in the photo must have given the photographer permission to take the photo and for it to be used in an exhibition
5.In order to be used in an exhibition photos must be availably in ideally at least 2MB in size (They will be resized by Flickr when entered)
6.Photographs may be humorous but must not be disrespectful.
7.The Centre reserve the right not to exhibit entries

How to submit your entry:
1.Via a host site such as Flickr www.flickr.com/groups/ffotosgrowingold/
2. Directly to Wales Millennium Centre to vet -
•via post on disk in any image format
• via email (depends on capacity) direct to education@wmc.org.uk
•or as mailbit (public upload onto web and we download from it - not necessarily visible like Flickr)

If you have a suitable photograph and don’t understand how to submit it please contact education@wmc.org.uk or someone in your local library or adult community education centre might be able to help.
