About Fes-te Fauvista

TRY YOUR HAND AT BECOMING A FAUVIST PHOTOGRAPHER

The Museu Picasso de Barcelona has decided to start this competition to celebrate the current exhibition from the artist Kees Van Dongen, who is considered one of the key exponents of fauvism. We are inviting you to contribute your own fauvist photographs by using Flickr, the online community for sharing photos.

The photos within this group may also be displayed on the Museu Picasso Website and the winners of the five selected photos will be given a Museum Pass.

WHAT DO WE CONSIDER FAUVIST PHOTOGRAPHY TO BE?

→Main topic: colour.
→Images with intense colours, visual expressivity and a strong combination of colours.
→Open theme: images of landscapes, textiles with bright colours, portraits, or vivid compositions created on purpose for this occasion.
→With no limits to your creativity and photographic or artistic eye: what we are looking for here is the final artistic result, so the photos may be left as shot or colour manipulated with photoshop or other programs.

TO SEND PHOTOS

To upload your photos, all you need to do is join the group “Fes-te fauvista” (Become a Fauvist) in Flickr and add the photos you´ve selected. The closing date is the 27th of September, which coincides with the end of the Van Dongen exhibition. The competition has been extended until the 4th of October!

* Before submitting your photos we suggest you have a look at those that are already in the group.
* All the photos sent will be verified, so it may take a day or two until the photo you sent appears in the group.
