Here's what we're talking about: how nature takes back what it can, how the sneakiest of weeds sprout from and crawl over everything that humans have made. Even tar, even blacktop, even cement, even the most ordinary cyclone fence marking property lines that no longer matter. In the overgrown fenced lot we see glimmers of how it will all look after we're gone. Here lie the remnants of industrious progress and the ruins of machine-age manifest destiny, and they have gone to seed.
