About Female street photographers not Raw or Hardcore..just Street
A new group for us ladies who love taking street shots and appreciate the art of photography.
There have been great documentary photographers ... Marion Post-Wollcott, Dorothea Lange, and photojournalists, Margaret Bourke-White, Lee Miller, Nellie Bly (Elizabeth Cochrane Seaman), Alice Dunnigan, Ethel Payne, Katharine Graham, Anna Quindlen etc etc , but street photography is an ill-defined genre.
It seems to be testosterone fuelled and male dominated, personally from the photos i have seen on the street/candid groups i think that a lot of people are forgetting about the skill needed to be a good street photographer.
There is an overwhelmingly bloke-ish/aggressive element to street photography, this group is for the girls to show how good we are and that to be a brilliant street photographer you dont have to shove a camera in someones face or take terrible photos of unsuspecting women with a zoom lens.
This group is about Skill, Perception, Anticipation, Feeling, Depth, Creativity, Intrestingness, Quality, Originality , Being daring and so on.
So ladies come forth and show us your stuff..:)
