We are Really Flickring Now!!! Flickr Tips & Tricks!

Isn't it Fun? Many of you are new to Flickr and there are some seasoned pros here too! I'm pretty new to Flickr myself and have been having fun exploring all you can see and do here.
I have learned a bit in my Flickr travels. It is a great worlwide exposure for your art. Make sure to add tags!!! Tags make your images show up in searches.
Here are some tags that I use:
fffriends, felting, needle felting, felt, felted, needle felted, needlefelt, art, sculpture, wool.... you get the idea!!
And I love playing with some of the Flickr services. So make sure to tag all of your felting pictures with our group tag fffriends so I can find them to make group collages and such to share on the forum!
Also - make sure to join groups - search for groups - look at other members list of groups when you see their photos - don't limit yourself to felting groups -
Another thing is contacts - Adding someone as a contact is a great way to tell them you admire their work and will be watching their photos. You can always see your contacts newest photos on your Flickr page. Usually when you add someone they recirprocate - it is a great way to share photos with a wide range of people.
Oh - and of course - make sure to leave lots of comments and add faves.
So if anybody would like to add some helpful Flickr Hints to share - or if you have any questions about how to use Flickr, please post - I think this topic is quite appropriate for here rather than on the felting forum.

Another thing I think is important is to include descriptions of your photos - you get the option when you upload. Many people on Flickr will see your art and it is so nice to tell a little about the techniques and materials used. It is such a great opportunity to share with the world the wonders of felting!

Has anyone tried the Mosaic Maker? I love it! I just made a mosaic to share several photos on the Felting Forum. No need to put in many different photo urls - just the one!

Hi Brenda - there are a couple of ways to add tags - to add tags to an individual picture, open it and to the right of a picture you should see "Add Tags" Click on that and type in the tags you want.
Here are some I use.
FFFriends Felt Felting "Needle Felting" wool roving "wool sculpture"
To do many pictures at once - click on Organize at the top of this screen and drag any of your photos that you want tagged the same way into the middle screen - click add tags and go from there!

Lots of useful advice here Kay. Thanks! Computers are not my strong point and Flickr gives me a bit of a headache. I need all the help I can get!! I'll keep looking in on this discussion to see what other handy hints I can pick up.
