In 1982, Heinz College (then known as School of Urban Design and Public Affairs) created the Master of Public Management (MPM) program. Associate Dean Harry Faulk headed the MPM program and played an important role in the development of Heinz College and its programs for over 27 years. Harry cared deeply about students and alumni and had a profound influence on many lives. In 2002, he was honored with Carnegie Mellon's Robert Doherty Prize, awarded annually to members of the university community who make substantial and sustained contributions to excellence in education.
