About Farm and farmer
Most of my ancestors (at least those I've been able to trace) were farmers: in Finland, Germany, England, Ireland, Canada, the American South, the American Midwest. How different their life was from mine.
In honor of them, and in honor of those who still farm today:
This group is dedicated to small and family farms from around the world. All aspects of farming and the farmer's life, including the farm itself; farm buildings, animals, and equipment; farm work and products; farmer's markets; county and state fairs; urban farms (not gardens, but farms), etc.
No agribusiness: the focus is on family-owned farms, cooperatives, and the like.
Please keep images posted identifiable to the theme: e.g., a macro flower shot doesn't fit just because the flower was taken on a farm, unless we can tell from the photo alone (not through labels or tags) that it was taken on a farm. A photo of a ferris wheel doesn't fit just because it was taken at a county fair where farmers are also displaying their produce: something having to do with farming must be in evidence.
Please include tags and/or description of where — country, state, province, county — your photo was taken.
