About Grumman F-14 Tomcat
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat could be labeled as one of the most potent and capable aircraft ever devised anywhere in the world. Initially designed to counter Soviet long-range/high-speed bombers, the Tomcat had to re-invent itself as a precision strike platform in the years following the Gulf War. While the Tomcat was officially retired in October of 2006, it left a lasting impression on those that flew, maintained and supported this jet during her 36 year career with the United States Navy.
