About EGO - Explore Gaming Opponents

This group is for all people, who want to opt out from the ridiculous addiction many others have to Explore. Once invented by Flickr as a tool to find interesting photos and therefore starting as a good idea, it went astray then, when it was taken as a game by confirmed gamblers and cheaters. So until August 28th 2009 Interestingness was nothing but a fake, controlled by those gamblers and cheaters.

Fortunately things have changed now even the latest change still may not be the radical change, many of us wished for.

If you have the same opinion, you’re welcome to join this group. But if you belong to one of those networks, which constantly occupied and still try to game Explore, our admins won’t let you in or ban you immediately, if you already managed to join.

Joining this group is solely to signify your support against the gaming of Explore, so you cannot post photos in the pool. But you can participate in all discussions about Explore or also start new ones of course!

One of the main goals of this group was to unite as many critics of Explore in its erstwhile form as possible under just one roof to have better chances to achieve a radical change.

Now we achieved a change, but our mission is not yet accomplished: As long as there are people, who still try to game Explore, we'll keep this group as a tool of vigilant monitoring.

That implies our second goal, that is to inform as many Flickr members as possible about Explore as a popular playground of gamblers and cheaters, which is not acceptable in our opinion.

So let's not keep silent and just watch the evil goings-on, as we all have a voice. Let's use our voice and let's get seen and heard. Our voice will be the louder, the more we are. And even we're still a small group, our voice already became heard! :-))
