About Exploratorium Reflections

How many mirrors does it take to make a kaleidoscope? Why does a giant parabolic (curved) mirror reflect you upside down and larger than life? What happens when you look at your reflection through bad mirrors, cracked mirrors, distorted mirrors, multiple mirrors, redirecting mirrors, water mirrors or odd illumination?

In conjunction with the Exploratorium's special Reflections exhibition this summer, running June19 - September 20, we invite you to share your own investigations with mirrors and reflections. We have created this flickr group to seed some ideas of ways to experiment with mirrors, but this is just a launching place.

Try the first 3 Exploratorium Challenges, and show us what you came up with! After that, show us something new that can inspire others to continue experimenting.

Don't forget to visit us this summer and check out our Reflections exhibition, featuring multimedia, NYC based artist Daniel Rozin. Learn more about the exhibition at www.exploratorium.edu/reflections.
