About Exotic Cocktails and Tiki Mugs

When deciding whether or not to submit a photo to the group, please consider the following guidelines. Images that do not conform to these guidelines may be removed from the pool:

Examples of exotic cocktails include the Mai Tai, Zombie, Jet Pilot, Scorpion, Doctor Funk, and other creations of bartenders and restaurateurs like Don the Beachcomber, Trader Vic Bergeron, Ray Buhen, Dick Santiago, and others too numerous to mention. Biographies of these individuals, and many of the original recipes for their cocktails can be found in the books of Jeff (Beachbum) Berry, as well as bartending guides and autobiographies.

Appropriate submissions to the group include photographs of exotic cocktails in glassware or Tiki mugs. Over-the-top, flammable garnishes are heartily encouraged. Photos of empty mugs are also welcome, as well as drinking-related ephemera like cocktail menus, postcards, and recipe brochures.

Most importantly, all photos submitted to the pool MUST feature a cocktail or a scene inside of a Tiki bar!

Inappropriate submissions include Beer, Jello Shots, Martinis, Manhattans, Margaritas, Mojitos, Sex on the Beach, Screaming Orgasms, or anything served in a plastic pineapple.
