About Evil Twin ATC Swap (aka The Flip Side or Opposites)
Group for those participating in the Swap-bot Evil Twin ATC trade - December 2006 to February 2007. For more information, contact Coffeelatte at Flickr. www.flickr.com/people/telltaleheart/
For this swap, we're making 4 Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) showing two portraits similar to the face cards in a regular playing card deck. This is an international swap, through Swap-bot. To sign on, you must visit Swap-bot.com by Dec. 26, 2006, register and join the swap.
Your ATCs should show a contrast between two faces or two figures. The overall design should divide the card in half either horizontally, vertically or diagonally. One example might be an angel on the top half and a devil on the bottom half. The only other restriction is that your twins must appear on the same face of the card (in other words, you can NOT put one twin on the front and one on the back.)
Will one of the faces represent Good and the other Evil? Or is it Beauty facing off against a Beast? There are so many ways to go with this: a dark image facing a light one, old opposite young, female opposing a mail, threadbare vs. opulent...you choose...
For this swap you will make 4 cards and send 2 different cards to 2 different partners. Your ATCs must be 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches (the size of a baseball card.) Cards need to be just as sturdy as a baseball trading card. You can hand draw or paint, collage, do digital images or fabric -- all media are welcome. I encourage you to include hand work, either as part of the images you use or to add special embellishments. Simply cutting out two pictures from magazines and pasting them on a card is probably less than what your partner would want to see. Embellish your work to make it special. Think maybe three layers minimum -- backing design, face, special feature (small beads, ribbon, ink, etc.)
On the back of your card you must include your Swap-bot screen name, your real name and an email address. If you have a title for your ATC please note that on the back as well. If you have made multiple copies of this design, please make sure to number the card (example: 1 of 3, or 2/4.)
Users who have 2 or more negative Swap-bot ratings or many "no sends" will be removed from the swap. Please only serious swappers need apply. Newbies without a Swap-bot rating are welcome. I'm giving this a fairly long start-up time, since many are busy with the holidays and other commitments. But I hope some of you can appreciate this theme and will enjoy making some awesome trading cards!
