About Everyday objects we take for granted

I was thinking about all the everyday things we just take for granted, someone designed them for us, to make life easier, and we just ignore that and take the objects for granted.

Simple things like plastic cutlery, disposable plates, bin liners, wall paper, a biro, paper clips etc:

I have started with a flock of coathanger, what other everyday objects do you take for granted, without a thought for the person who designed them?
