About Ethnic Baked Goods

I love European pastries, buns, cookies, etc. I especially love the baked goods that are made to celebrate holidays. This group is not just for European ethnicities, but to celebrate the foodways and baked goods of any ethnicity. Long live baking!

Please name the item in your description and give a brief description of what its tradition is for those of us who do not come from or are not familiar with that ethnic tradition.

I want to keep the group focus on very traditional baked goods. So please do not upload just any old baked item. It's a bit more difficult with French items given that French pastries have made it into the mainstream of world bakeries. But please try to stick to very old French traditions.

Please do not add pictures of savory entrées. If someone repeatedly uploads pictures that don't fit this group's theme, I will be forced to ban them as I do not have the time to constantly delete off-topic photos.Examples of traditional baked goods would be mämmi (Finland), luciabullar (Sweden), Eccles pies (UK), etc.
