About
The largest Arts Centre in Singapore, Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay was a project that went through about 20 years of planning including its construction. Today it stands as an iconic item by the bay. With arts performances and exhibitions all year round and other facilities such as a library and mall, it has not only become an attraction to wonderful tourists but also a great hang out place for any typical Singaporeans.
The building was the work of 2 renowned architecture firms, Michael Wilford & Partners and DP Architects. The building’s façade/design has won both great and horrible critiques by people all round the world. But no matter what the case is, the building is more widely known as ‘durians’, a tropical fruit, to Singaporeans due to its shape and the spiky shades used.
In this Group, photos of the Arts Centre would be showcased. It’s always a very different experience with every shot captured by photographers. Showcase all your works of the Esplanade ranging from its architecture to its performances to the exhibitions, any caption that has a relation to the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay.
