06 Dec 08 - Hello fellow New Mexicans. I started this group to promote the image of the City of Española, New Mexico to show the beauty of the VALLEY! Española is 410 years old from it's humble beginning in 1598 we were incorporated in 1925 and that brought the Chili Line Railroad. The railroad has long since left but with it took the downtown area (Main Street) the City Council is now working to restore the downtown to its former stature.
