About Erg (Graphic Research School)

This group is about the Erg (Graphic Research School), based in Brussels, Belgium.

The Erg is an international school of art which, like a city, follows the rhythm of today’s world and society. At Erg we listen to all that inspires and influences contemporary artists and creators.

Since its creation in 1972, the Erg has based its pedagogy on the need for a decompartmentalisation of the traditional forms of fine art. Since then, the mixing of artistic disciplines and experimentation in new mediums, such as video or digital art, has deeply modified the nature of contemporary artwork in all fields.

The Erg anticipates and questions the constant change it is confronted with in order to better address future challenges in the art world. To achieve its goals, the Erg is developing an interdisciplinary pedagogy (linking practice with theory), which combines experimental research with training in artistic disciplines.
