Nice, though I can't help but frown at the reference to pan0.net after what happened here.
One problem with Flash-based viewers is that they won't load JPEGs sized 8192x4096 and bigger. Not that SPi-V for Flickr handles them so well, but Shockwave loads larger JPEGs...

I agree with you for the pan0.net fiasco. However I have the impression that it is really two different things: Atanas Minev, who wrote the pan0 viewer, and the "team" at pan0.net which stole the images and refused to delete them when caught. When this was mentioned in PanotoolsNG, people tried contacting Atanas, to no avail.
Thanks for the info about the maximum size of the JPEG, I did not know what was causing that. You have saved me a lot of time, because then I will not have to go and check in the code to see if I can change that...

Great! But is there any viewer to to view partial, non-360°, panoramas?

Just a quick follow-up: as described above, the viewer only looks for the original image. If you have a free account, nothing will display (I may get around to fix that). I have now improved the viewer to use the largest size available to me in Flickr. So even free users can use the viewer, on a limited size image of course. (the image must be available to me, so add me as a contact or friend depending on your download settings if you wish to use the viewer).
Why would you want to do that? the viewer is too simple to allow high definition images.

I am having issues with the viewer, and in particular the authentification in Flickr. Sorry about this, I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

Thanks for creating this, Seb... I had only discovered the Shockwave app (and this group) the other day, and wished it was done in Flash. I don't think the Jpeg size limitation should be too much of an issue for people who just want a viewer to link from their Flickr page.

It seems to be working now. I don't know what happened.

Aaaaaand it was a very short uptime. It broke again, and since I have no clue what is causing this, apart from the hosting I use, I've moved the system to a new website, with an automatic redirect, so it should "just work". Let me know if it doesn't, and sorry for the trouble.

The flash viewer is a nice tool. Thanks for hosting it, Seb! I do have an observation though:
At the zenith and nadir I see a glitch on any pano, that gets larger when zoom level is wider. Maybe fiddling with the tesselation would help, but I suspect there's not much more you could do other than file a bug.

Hi,
I make many panoramas (non 360° though) and I would like to put a link to a panorama viewer in the description of those photos in flickr.
I found this great Flash viewer :
theseblog.free.fr/panoviewer/?photo=4088181727
This is a nice solution.
I have some questions about it:
* Are you the developer of this viewer ?
* Is there any documentation about the usage of the URL ? (extra params ?)
* Can I host a copy of it on my own website
* Does it support partial panoramas (not 360°x180°), with the use of some "angle range" options ?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Brgds,
Raphael

1) I'm not the developer of the Flash viewer (this would be pan0.net pan0.net/page.php?page=pan0&set_accept=1&perm=1). I just put together a page that uses the Flickr API to show equirectangular images.
2) See the page above.
3) If you mean a copy of the flash applet, then see the page above. If you mean the Flickr webpage, I could give you pointers but you would probably better off writing from scratch something better (I used phpflickr).
4) See the page above.
Overall, I think it would be better to use another viewer, more extensible, which would allow nicer navigation (hotspots, menus, etc.).
Good luck !

Thanks Seb Its like cool breeze. Spiv needs many extra things to download and flash is going to be standard where user has to install nothing.
Your viewer is very fine. Can you please add slow stop movement when I leave mouse. As you can see in krpano....movement slows down when we stop movement.
low to high res on demand feature. Like when zoom out it shows low res version and when zoom in it auto increases res to full resolution available.
Another good thing you can add is a slideshow like auto movement. Where flash player auto zooms in and out, auto rotates to give a presentation like feeling. It would be great.
I hope you will be working on hotspots and menus.

@emaad: thanks for the suggestions, but I have no plans to extend the viewer at the moment. It's supposed to be simple, and it will stay that way.
All your comments could be taken on board if the backend (pan0) was a more advanced Flash viewer, but this is all I have right now.

:)) Ok boss......Agreed :)
But I still love your player because of Spiv needs user to download stuff and flash player does not need anything.
