I Currently provide a home to three Cactus Orchids in Virginia and have been looking for a good fertilizer, or soil conditioner that I can use, that wont burn or hurt the plants? Any help would be great.

Any balanced fertilizer of 10-10-10 is good for epiphyllums. One feeding per month is good during the growing months. Feb-May apply, 0-10-10 (alaska morbloom) for blooms.

Any well balanced fertilizer such as a 7-7-7 or a 10-10-10 during the summer every 2-3 weeks helps a lot, but as epiforums said, a 0-10-10 during the spring helps out a lot also.

Here in southern California, the growing/blooming season is year round and our epis live outdoors. After withholding feed for December and January, I begin February with a low (or no) nitrogen fertilizer to promote blooms (which will start as early as the end of the month!). Then it's a balanced fertilizer once a month from March until October. In early November, it's back to the low/no nitrogen feed to toughen new growths for what we laughingly call winter.

Then again, my mom's been growing beautiful epis in Massachusetts simply by over-diluting MiracleGro. Go figure.

Just remember that it's better to under-feed plants than to over-feed them.
