Hello fellow short-timers, I have a question about time. Wow and Flutter 2 86 months ago

About ephemeral creation

This group is looking for any ephemeral creation or temporary art picture.
But what is an ephemeral creation? Two aspects have to be considered in this form of art : time and culture.
Since a long time, we distinguish nature and culture. Creation belongs to culture and, therefore, an ephemeral creation has to be created by a human being and not by nature.
On another side, ephemeral creations are based on unpermanency, like everything else in this world. In other words, nothing will last forever and therefore every creation is somehow ephemeral. However, some artists put a particular emphasis on the temporary aspect by doing only short while creations. For them, ephemeral can mean one hour, one day, one week, or even a whole season, but never much more. So if every creation is ephemeral, some are more limited in time. Now, it’s hard to say how long should last an ephemeral creation. It's like asking how much grains of sand are needed to make a heap? Or how much space is needed to make a room? Nevertheless, there is a general expectation of time in order for a creation to be ephemeral, even if it's difficult to cut clearly a lapse of time. In general, we qualify a creation as ephemeral when it will soon decompose itself, when it will be altered by nature (rain, wind,...)or culture.
In other words, this group is about short-lived creations or temporary works of art.
But don't worry too much, when you will see it, you will know it.

Criteria:

1) all images must show an ephemeral creation or a temporary work of art.

2)all ephemeral elements must have been created.

3)all images must possess a creative commons license that allows for the creation of derivative works.

4)all images must be tagged "ephemeral".
