About EPAC. (Editions, Publication & Art Commons)
Will establish criterea as we go along, but initially a place to put those observations, those moments, those thoughts.
The title should be interpreted as you understand it and the work submitted should be appropriate to that.
the thing is i dont want to be too prescriptive about what we put in here - but i do want us to be careful...
i'll try and explain where this all comes from..
EPAC originally stood for Editions and Publiction Artist Collective - it was/is a network of like minded artists who use book publication/ multiples as a format for their work (very popular at the Stuttgart school i believe)... this work is then distributed and collected through traditional mail.
The exhibition moves to the individual audience, rather than the audience visits the artwork....
The joy of publication works is that the intimacy of the work takes on a new level... the artist and audience are having a conversation one-on- one... like when you read a book, the author is telling you that story, as opposed to a cinematic story which presents the story with a common denominator.....
so..... um...... the point of setting up and creating a new EPAC is that we have a place where we can do the same thing digitally...
let's build a body of work, a collective portfolio of intimate works with a sense of cynasism/wit/curiosity...
street art /shock art documented.... your own performance art or interventions documented, notebook work, mail art documented, obbsessions, insecurities, confrontations, arguments scripted... funny feet?
you will have been invited you because your work on Flickr demonstrates some of those qualities...
:)
hope this helps without beiong dictatorial.
