About Enchanted Worlds at Harris Museum & Art Gallery, Preston
Enchanted Worlds: Art of Fairy Stories & Mermaid Tales in the summer 2009 exhibition the Harris Museum & Art Gallery, Preston.
It runs from June 13th - see our launch day group - until September 5th and looks at work from the 1790s to the present day.
The exhibition features art inspired by mermaids, fairies, red riding hood, Beauty and the Beast and Midsummers Night Dream. Artists whose work is on display include Quentin Blake, Paula Rego, David Hockney, Richard Dadd as well as the mysterious Cottingley fairy photographs.
Enchanted Worlds Curator talks take place on Wednesday 8th July, Wed 12th & Wed 26th August 4pm-4.20pm.
A special talk by visual theatre artist Rachel Riggs on Cotton Fairies in Preston takes place on Wed 22nd July 6pm-7.30pm.
