Redwork in Germany  Pro User  says:

Thank your for the invite floresita!

I love embroidery and really appreciate all the different styles and ideas posted on flickr. For myself I am rather limited to Redwork only.

As I went flickr pro just recently I created a fourth set with some pattern I traced from vintage advertsing you are free to use for your personal projects and I also posted a few links to Redwork sites with free pattern in the "free online pattern" thread - but be careful you might get bitten by the Redwork bug too...

Hi, I'm jessa and I embroider. I'm 22 and I started experimenting with needles and thread at 7 or 8 years old. I love it and I've found that I'm actually pretty good at it. When I was little I mostly made strange little "samplers" that I wish I still had. Now I'm always coming up with grand projects that keep me plenty busy in addition to my insane levels of schoolwork.

Hi There,

My name is Laren and I'm from Australia. My grandmother taught me embroidery basics when I was about 8. The I lost interest, but in the last few years having been embroidering with a vengence!

At the moment, my main focus is on pre-17th Century embriodery, especially Elizabethan embroidery. I'm in the SCA, which an historical re-enactment group.

I've also got a passion for the Vogart Embroidery Transfers (which also has to do with my Nan, I inherited some of hers when she passed). I'm trying to get a gallery going to show all the designs available. I'm currently working on a set of tea towels for my sister as a very late house warming present.

I blog everyday, come over for a visit: laren.blogspot.com/ and I also have detailed diaries of my bigger projects at: needleprayse.webcon.net.au/broidery/index.html

Hope to chat more and please ...more pictures!

Cheers,

HI Floresita,
So glad that l found this group, it is always nice to see what other people are making and to be able to show my craft as well. l live in Australia, in the state of Victoria, city of Bendigo. l am always doing craft of some description altho halfdolls are a bit of a passion with me. l buy the little dolls unpainted, then paint and decorate them in different ways, tassels, beaded knit skirts and lace and anything that will look nice. Making cuffs for my grand-daughters and friends at the moment. Luckily my dear mum taught me to knit and crochet and embroider so l am into all that as well,

Hi, my name is Amanda and I'm glad to have found this awesome group.
I've uploaded some of my recent embroidery - the piece is an initial 'G" for my dad's birthday present. It's inspired by the Diana Lampe books on garden embroidery.
It takes me a long time to finish a piece tho i'm thinking of offering custom pieces occasionally for commission. My embroidery is a bit of relaxation away from my jewelry business and housekeeping! There is therefore not enough time for it!

Hey Everybody,

So, I finally got around to figuring some of this site out. I previously had a flickr account way back in the day before you need a yahoo id. I had read about it on Alex the Girl who had posted a link to Caterina Fake on her website and now some years later here I am again.

I'm more of a lurker than a joiner...I mean how many passwords can you have before you have joined everything but this was just too irresistable. I live in Western Canada and I love embroidery especially Sublime Stitching. I just started up the tea towel tour swap again with IamSusie on craftster if your interested.

Floresita rocks and is destined to become an embroidery legend :)

Cheers Everybody,
rectangel

Hi.

I just recently picked up my hoop after a very long break from embroidery. I've been knitting and crocheting mostly up til now but I find that my crafts are crossing over more and more.

I prefer embroidery to cross stitch - not sure why.

I learned to embroider as a kid, spending many hours stitching ladies in crinoline dresses and bonnets, flower gardens and willow patterns with my mum.

I would like to give redwork a try.

Thanks for having me!

Hey.
I found this group because of the awesome Zombie gal made by burb_mama. That kind of stuff is right up my alley!
I am a beader first, and have started doing bead embroidery with felt, and I am loving it. My own Zombies were made with mostly regular embroidery, and just a couple beads. ;p
We're gamers (board games), so watch for game related embroidery coming sometime in the future.
