"The swan song" is a collective project to pay homage to analogic photography. It began with a little personal exhibition in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, on May 2008, and the opening of this Flickr group and one blog site.
The project consists in collecting photographs from the beginning or the end of a 35 mm roll, where there is a visible cut and burn from the end of the roll: "being this what makes them unique, unfinished fragments that keep within themselves the thin red line between the existence and the void."
Those photographs, once worthless and forced to oblivion, become now -as two centuries of history agonize- priceless treasures, incomplete fragments of memory which, as photography itself, fight for not to vanish forever.

The aim is that the project may grow up to complete a huge collection of photographic “swan songs”. The contributions received will feed this Flickr group and also the blog site, which is going to be the “headquarters” of the project. The final purpose is to be able to publish a book or to launch a huge exhibition project with all the contributions.
If you want to take part in the project, please read the rules and add your photographs to the group. Further on, all the group’s pictures or a selection from them will be featured in the blog site.
"El canto del cisne" es un proyecto colectivo de homenaje a la fotografía analógica. Se inicia con una pequeña exposición en el bar Gora de Vitoria-Gasteiz en Mayo de 2008, y con la apertura de un blog y este grupo de Flickr.
El proyecto consiste en recopilar fotografías correspondientes al principio o al final de un carrete de 35 mm en las que sea visible el corte o veladura del final del rollo: "es esto lo que las hace únicas, por ser fragmentos inacabados que contienen en sí mismas la línea divisoria entre la existencia y la nada."
Estas fotografías, en otro tiempo inútiles y destinadas al olvido, se convierten ahora, mientras agonizan dos siglos de historia, en valiosos tesoros, en trozos de memoria incompletos que, como la misma fotografía, luchan por no desvanecerse para siempre.
La intención es que este proyecto crezca hasta completar una gran colección de "cantos de cisne" fotográficos. Las aportaciones que se reciban irán engrosando este grupo y también el blog que hará de "cuartel general" del proyecto. El fin último es que con todas las aportaciones se pueda editar un libro o plantear una gran exposición.
Si quieres colaborar, basta con que añadas tus fotografías al grupo. Después, todas las fotografías del grupo o una selección de ellas serán incluidas en el blog.
