About Sense Of Place
A collection of interesting and intriguing photographs from around the Edmonton area. Compiled by Journal photographers and Edmontonians alike.
Edmonton, like most cities, is full of iconic buildings familiar to people who live here, whether for their location (the Shaw Conference Centre, built into the side of the river valley), their shape (the flatiron building) or their grandeur (the Hotel Macdonald, the Magrath Mansion on Ada Boulevard). Then there are the less familiar, but no less interesting spots, perhaps known only to those who live or work nearby. Every other week in Style, we'll celebrate some of these buildings in our photo series, Sense of Place, by capturing a well-known exterior from a unique perspective or featuring an interesting-looking place unknown to most of us.
