About Effra FC
Confined to some concrete culvert she may be, but the River Effra flows through all the inhabitants of the SW/SE borders, whether we care to admit it or not.
This is a group for anyone who feels a connection to Brockwell Park, cool kids of Brixton or Guardianistas of Herne Hill, you're all welcome.
Notes for new members:
Submissions to the pool must have been taken either within a fully-laden swallow's flight distance from the environs of the River Effra, or by someone who has ever heard of it. The preference is for quality over quantity, the better to savour each picture. We are here to enjoy the best work of our fellows, and the more locally relevant the better.
Meetings of Effra FC are on the last Tuesday of the month, where it is policy NOT to discuss policy. Decisions as to venue are made by ether a trial by combat or by someone making a suggestion and nobody especially objecting.
There is a monthly competition in which the winner gets to set the theme (and tweak the rules) for the following month's round.
Lastly, the "FC" of Effra FC may or may not stand for Funky Cameras, Fresh Captures, Fusty Curmudgeons, Frisky Cuddles, Flambé Consultants or Furry Chins. Non-scurrilous suggestions are welcome.
