About Ecoregions of the World

This is a group for beautiful photos of landscapes and wildlife from all over the world. You can explore this group's photos of ecoregions sorted by country.

Rules:

1. Your photo must be of a wild landscape or wild creature. No roads, buildings, people, farms, etc.

2. Your photo must be tagged with the name of the ecoregion in which it was taken. Use the WWF WildFinder map to find the name. Remember to put the tag in quotation marks.

Any photos not meeting these two rules will be rejected.

What's an ecoregion?

An ecoregion is defined as a large area of land or water that contains a geographically distinct assemblage of natural communities that:
(a) share a large majority of their species and ecological dynamics;
(b) share similar environmental conditions, and;
(c) interact ecologically in ways that are critical for their long-term persistence.

Ecoregions are a way of seeing the world that transcends political boundaries.
