About Echo Lake, CA
This is a group dedicated to Echo Lake, which is located just south of Lake Tahoe in California. Upper and Lower Echo lakes are separated by a narrow channel that can only be accessed by boat along with the cabins that surround the lake.
The lakes are located just south of California's Desolation Wilderness Area, which covers approximately 60,000 acres that have been protected since 1929. There are many activities that the lakes offer which include hiking, camping, boating, fishing, swimming, plus much more.
When arriving to the lakes, be sure to stop into the Chalet. The Chalet offers many services including cabins called Chaletlees for visitors to stay in while visiting Echo, boat and motor services and taxi services for the lake. The Chalet also has a deli, a general grocery store, an old fashioned soda fountain and Postal services.
