About Eat History
Objectives of the Group
To present a lively collection of historical, Australian, eating and food related images.
Think EAT, FOOD and HISTORY. It it cannot be tagged with these terms, then serve it someplace else.
All images should be copyright free or the original work of the member posting. Images copied from online public collections may not be laid to this table.
Think food consumption, not production - so save your images of dairy cows, poultry farms, corn fields etc for other groups.
The cut-off date is around 20 years ago. There are plenty of groups for recent and current food preparation, sale and consumption. We want the older, quirky, cool, amazing, weird, nostalgic and interesting stuff.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the theme.
Members may wish to use the discussion threads to chew over these and other matters or simply to ruminate about food history or whatever else may be to their taste.
Appropriate tags may, as usual, be found at www.picturethesaurus.gov.au/search.html
Food, Glorious Food
Food, glorious food!
Hot sausage and mustard!
While we're in the mood --
Cold jelly and custard!
Pease pudding and saveloys!
What next is the question?
Rich gentlemen have it, boys --
In-di-gestion!
From the musical "Oliver" with lyrics by Lionel Bart.
