Hi jonny - i recognized you at the photo contest, but was so hungover I could barely stand up. Did anyone else think that the judge was insane for his runner-up choice? I realize this is a volunteer effort, but I want to ask them to at least get a second judge for this event!!

The funny thing with the judging is they used to have two judges. he did b&w and they had a woman do color. i think for the most part his b&w judging is ok though i did not much personally care for the HDR that came in second in both categories.
I think there should be a members choice category.
Anyone know what the runner ups win?

Was the second b&w image an HDR? I thought it was a photoshop effect. I think I would like it if everyone had an opportunity to speak about their images. As someone who missed out on art school, I would enjoy a critique.

i think it was hdr but im not sure. i missed art school too. i went for new media.

If the runner up for both was me like you think I wasn't informed by Eastern State at all which means the runner up gets nothing
But if it was me, both were HDR and then fine tuned in Photoshop.

they seam to drop the ball on this event some how. only one winner was there. im not sure if there was a prize for second place. I won for black and white in 2007. and the all day shoot was great but there were still off limit places. ie cell block 3,5,6 was bummed a bit but the shoot was totally fun.
