About Eastern Sierra (Wildflowers & Wildlife)Wildflowers bloom in the Eastern Sierra almost year round. Only when snow blankets the Owens Valley, covering the last of the Autumn-flowering Rabbit Brush, does the bloom really end. And of course, wildlife abounds throughout the year. For purposes of this group, the Eastern Sierra includes the Sierra Nevada from Tahoe south to the Kern Plateau as well as the Owens Valley, Inyo Mountains, White Mountains and other ranges on the east side as well as Mono Lake and Yosemite NP (including the Valley). |
