DipStych - a new program to create 'tychs at the click of a button

view profile

Findo  Pro User  says:

DipStych is a new open source program (written by my bro-in-law) for creating dip and tripstchs by simply selecting the images you wish to join, and selecting how you want the border to look...
Let us know what you think.

Thanks.

Here's an example of the output from DipStych.

If you use DipStych, it would be nice if you tagged your photos with DipStych to help promote it.

You will need .NET framework V2.0 to use this.

Ok, I tried it and am giving it a thumbs up. Good job, Saunderses!

The only thing I think should be added is an option to resize the output.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks devilinsidela - it's great to know that other people benefit from your work. I think that's the great reward of making open sourced & free software.

Your suggestion will be really easy to implement, I'll probably have time to put it into an update before Tuesday night. Have a look in the Feature Requests on Sourceforge if you want to add some more ideas on how it should be implemented.

This thing's great. I've been playing with it for two days. I was skeptical at first, too, since most shareware is crap. (Is this shareware or officially freeware?)

Awesome, that you're going to implement my suggestion. Even better would be an Adobe-style pair of boxes (or whatever they're called) that show the existing dimensions, and automatically scales and displays the other dimension as you modify whichever one you choose. But I'll take what I can get! :-)

Thanks again, and I hope you promote this in other groups, since it's really nice.

I'm glad that you're enjoying it! I'm enjoying making and improving it.

DipStych is not shareware - rather it's free software - in all senses of the term. Not only is it free "like beer" it's also free "like speech". If that doesn't make sense visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FOSS. Each time I release a new version of the program, I also release the "source code" so that anyone can change, improve, learn from what I've written.

I'll probably not go the Photoshop style resizing option - just because of the way that I've designed the program. (Of course if you would prefer the software to work that way - you could always grab the source code and make it work that way! I'd be more than happy to review and include code that other people write.)

Saunderses : Is there any chance we can modify the code to build 2x2 tetraptych?

Perhaps even expand your wonderful code to become a mosaic maker similar to this:

Just wondering if there is a way to make asymetrical dips, or any form of triptychs?
