THREE WAYS TO PLAY
1. VOTE
Look for a discussion with VOTING in the title, and vote for your favorite two. You can vote in all the open duels. No, you can't vote in your own duel.
2. ACCEPT A CHALLENGE
Look for a discussion with only one member's name in the title. Open the discussion to see what's been posted. If you have something along a similar theme or something that can be linked (think free association/domino), post it there. You'll go back and forth with your challenger until 6 pictures have been posted, and then voting begins. Remember to number your pictures please.
3. START A DUEL
Look for an open duel (discussion with just "Duel #XXX" in the title). Open the thread and post a picture, then follow the instructions above.
- OR -
No open duels? Start one yourself. We try to have about 10 active duels at any given time. To start a new duel, start a new thread. Use the last thread as your guide.
Voting will end after 11 votes. Then anyone can count the votes and announce the winner at the end of the discussion. The winning picture can then be posted to the pool. Winners can add "DuelWinner" as a tag to their picture.
IN CASE OF A TIE
Start again in the same duel with the 2 winners. A tie is broken by 9 votes.
Once a photo wins, it can't be entered in another duel.
Need help with the rules? Please help each other!
Please vote in all open duels.
Each member can be in up to 2 regular duels at a time.

Might I suggest that if a tie break ties (this just happened) it goes to sudden death.

What does that mean? One more vote decides it?

Yes?
Does it seem a bit harsh?

Yeah, a bit harsh. We can just go another round for 9 more.

I think that ties should both be posted.
They've been judged of equal merit, and there's plenty of room for them.
