About Dublin - caught in a moment

I would like to ask anyone interested to submit photos for the chance to be published in a book on Dublin, called 'Dublin - caught in a moment'.

It will be a small hardback book of about 100 pages containing say 80 photos. Page size 150mm x 150mm (6" x 6"). The emphasis is on slightly quirky views of the city or any aspect of it. It will be professionally produced to the highest commercial standards.

I work in publishing and can say that the book will appear if there are enough decent quality photos.

There will be a nominal payment of €8 per photo to the photographer for each photo published and €150 for the photo to be used on the front cover. Copyright in each photograph will remain with the photographer.

The general intention is that the book will sell for about €12 - retail price, and would be available in bookshops and other outlets in Britain and Ireland, and on Amazon etc.

The closing date for submissions is 30 June and the book will be in the shops for Christmas 2008.

You are invited to post photos here for consideration. Membership of Flickr is not a requirement for participation and I can make alternative arrangements for anyone who wants to submit but is not a member.

You can submit as many photos as you wish but only 10 per day.

Photos should be of the highest resolution available - an otherwise excellent photo may have to be rejected if the resolution is too low. If in doubt put it up anyway and I will post a comment on this issue if necessary.
