23 Mar 08 - Welcome. We are in the reality of a drought here in the southeastern United States. The purpose of this group is to show the drought through the lens of our camera.March 16, 2008 - the rain deficit has diminished somewhat. The Army Corps of Engineers has been directed by the Federal court to continue to release water from Lake Lanier on a regular schedule. The water level is up by some reports over a foot. There is still a clear and present danger of being right back into the same situation

About Drought 2007into 2009This group is about presenting photographs of the drought conditions in the current year. This is an opportunity to show pictures of what we are seeing every day and to document the effect of the drought on our enviornment. I would prefer to keep the pictures as documents of what we see without political comment or opinons of why or who is to blame. Feel free to discuss the whys and whos and any comments about the drought conditions in the discussion section. In fact, I encouage an open discussion and all of your opinions in the discussion section. |
