About It's Only A Bit Of Drizzle
Photos depicting that finest of British institutions: drizzle.
Let's be precise here: we're talking about the weather drizzle, not the lemon cake kind. The thing that's somewhere between a mist and a rain. That kind of drizzle.
THE RULES
1. Photos must have been taken under mildly inclement conditions which one's mother might classify as "only a bit of drizzle". If the photograph also manages to capture the essence of people pretending to enjoy a day which could only have been truly enjoyable without all the bloody drizzle, so much the better.
2. Photos should have been taken within the borders of the British Isles, or any other country which has drizzle, although I remain to be convinced that such a country exists.
3. This group will be rigorously policed and any photos of mist, rain, sleet, fog, snow or other such meteorological phenomena will be forcibly removed. In short: don't try it on, this group is for drizzle and you damn well know it. For those still in any doubt, allow me to refer you to Mr Wikipedia's fine volume on the subject:
Drizzle is fairly steady, light precipitation. The drop size of drizzle is smaller than that of rain, averaging 0.5 mm in diameter. Though drizzle may be produced by low cumuliform clouds, it is more commonly associated with stratiform clouds.
I couldn't have put it better myself.
4. If your photograph is able to demonstrate the precise gauge of the droplets, and/or includes a clearly identifiable stratiform cloud, so much the better.
