This group is for photos taken at free admission architectural tours and open houses, wherever in the world they occur. Please note that it is only for pictures taken at doors open events, please do not include pictures at other times even if the building has been featured in doors open in the past. It is also NOT FOR PICTURES OF DOORS.

The Doors Open Concept

The Doors Open concept is a simple one: buildings of architectural and historical significance, many of which are not normally open to the public, open their doors to visitors for a day or a weekend for free.

Invented in Scotland in 1990 Probably the best know Doors Open events are the original Scottish ones that take place every year in September and the one in Toronto, Canada every year in May. But there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of similar events around the world.

This group is for photographs taken at, and discussions about these events, wherever they occur, including pictures taken at past years events if you have them. Please note that it is only for pictures taken at actual doors open events, please do not include pictures at other times even if the building in question has been featured in doors open in the past. It is also NOT FOR PICTURES OF DOORS.
