If you are interested in making some domino people, I plan on creating a page of clip art that will include images you can use for the body and head. My goal is to have that page of clip art uploaded to Flickr by Sunday evening. Keep in mind that dominos come in many sizes so you might need to resize the body portion a bit to fit your particular domino. The head will be a 1" circle - so you will be able to use a circle hole punch.

dulcimer / Lin, gosh I wish I lived close to you we could have fun playing with dominos this weekend. There is a lot of inspiration in this group. I have clicked on the uploaded images to view them more closely.....super talented people! Please share your creations with us.....much joy your way!
out on a whim / Kathie, thanks for your comment and enjoy the images. I find it very relaxing to scan and upload images.....I try to add a few each week to keep my sets going and/or to add new sets.

Here is a sheet of Domino People clip art....this is for personal use only - not for commercial purposes.
Please note, you may need to make adjustments to the images to suit your needs. I use a 1" hole punch for the heads and my dominos are somewhat on the large size (larger than the $1 store). Also, I like my image to be a tiny tiny bit bigger than the actual domino. After I glue on and Mod Podge the image....I sand the edge of the image with an emory board to make them smooth and aline exactly with the border of the domino. I use two 1" round wood disks for the head. I paint them entirely black, glue them together, then glue on the image of the head. Once the body of the domino is put together, I use E6000 to glue the head to the domino and let that dry over night. The arms and legs are attached by drilling two small holes at the bottom of the domino for legs (2 lengths of wire and beads of your choice), and I drill one hole length wise towards the top of the domino for the arms (1 length of wire and beads of your choice).

Would anyone be interested in surgical procedures pictures from a book from 1943? If so, I can upload some. The other Co-Grandmother brought the book over today as it has the procedure for a hip replacement...oh so different than they do it now. But some neat pictures in the book...they are hand drawings not real pictures.

prpldy15....I adore hand drawings. Do you know if they are in Public Domain? If so, share with the collage image group - so many people would appreciate that. Or, if you need help to determine if it is in PD Flickr mail me and I will help to research. ;^{}

Good morning T ~
Thanks thanks thanks and can not wait to see your clip art that you will be sharing. When you get it together, please post under the Inspiration & Images topic too.
My clip art pages (not the dolly one) fits the dominos that you would purchase at the Dollar Store that are in those wooden boxes they sell. 1.65" h x .85" w. Because there are so many sizes of dominos, I note a reminder that images may need to be adjusted accordingly. Also, my images are just a teeny tiny bigger than the domino, so that there is an opportunity to make a little mistake and/or sand the edges with an emory board, etc. after they adhere the image. (Most times I like the images to actually go to the border of the domino.)
Thanks, again, T cause' I know you will be sharing some awesome pictures!!!
A challenge to group members: Create and share your domino clip art? Please make every effort to use copyright free/public domain images.
Big smiles! jO

I have a whole set of rubber stamps that I bought about a year ago that are domino size. I haven't used them yet, but figured one day I will. As soon as I can start crafting again I will have to make (stamps some of the images on tissue paper) for anyone that would like some of what I do have. Or maybe I can post a picture of them and if you would like them I could stamp the ones you want. Jsut a thought.

Hey there.....yep that round robin was an "event" I'll always remember. So happy I am in Flickrland now...so so much better.
Lin, I saw on another topic that you finished a domino...how exciting for you! So glad you found some to alter and took the plunge. I look forward to seeing an image. I have the same results as you when I try to take camera shots (blurs & etc.). Vintagepix had some good suggestions that I will try the next time when I use my camera versus my scanner.
Have a good one all! jO

Hey "T"...wanta' make sure I am understanding. Did you want to convert inches to micrometers?
If so, the following is the conversion:
1.65" = 41910 micrometer
.85" = 21590 micrometer

Gosh, you are so welcome! I love to make those little images for everyone to use. I know I need to create more artwork, but for now making the clip art pages relaxes me....but now that we are expanding to all types of game pieces, I've been thinking of making clip art for scrabble tiles too....haven't yet decided on that idea....what do you think?
