I have a technique I'm dying to try... My partner has some very definite color preferences, which makes this process both easier and more difficult. Hope to get started choosing fabrics this weekend!

I like to try different things all the time, and it's really hard for me to make the same type of block over and over. So I'm glad to try something new. Mine and my partner's tastes are pretty opposite - to the point of her saying she didn't like one thing I really like, and her listing a like that I really don't! It's good for growth though. ;) I've got my plan now, just waiting for my fabric in the mail.
I say if your partner likes wonky, make more wonky houses! Then you'll both be happy, right?!

I have just been sitting in my studio petting and stacking different fabric. I think I am going to go with the chioce I have up in the group...It is one I actually dreamed about last night. I know several of you said that you have been seeing quilts in your dreams...Me too! I have been designing little and really freaking HUGE quilts in my dreams. but my time management issues are really flaring up. Oh well....what can you do?

I am waiting for an update on color info from my partner (via a mama), but I am ITCHING to start. I have one idea I would love to do, but if I think for a minute my partner won't like it, I have a back up!

I printed out pictures from her site and have a rough idea- a glimmer - a sparkle of an idea.
I bought the fabric sheets to print on and then today I went to an art store in Bradenton and bought stamps and supplies for paper dolls.
Sarah- your houses are lovely! But you need to grow too- once you have mastered something it can get boring just making the same thing over and over and over. I love the liberty log cabins and the letters and the stuff that Jude does with that type of piecing. Your partner will love whatever you make I am sure!

Not started yet. I have a couple other projects to get finished first and then I will spend some time in the sewing closet looking at my fabric and getting inspired - unless I find something in the scrap bins.

i have decided (for now) on the circles quilt i put the pic up of
i went and got a few more greens that are more appropriate so i will cut out the rest of my circles tomorrow and get started appliquing! wish me luck it turns out.

i've ordered fabric and planned...now the wait until the fabric arrives. my fingers are getting twitchy! i need to work on something in the meantime. i guess i could work on a quilt that's been in the process since february but i just don't wanna! i could do a practice run of the block since i've never made one before...hmm. that's probably what i'll end up doing since my apartment has no water (gotta love kuwait); so i can't wash clothes or do dishes!

i'm still in the planning phase for DQS 4. today i finished my Quilters Bag YEAHHH.
the next step iss a little Quilt for my Mother in Law Birthday, and then come the cutting fabric phase for DQS 4. it´s a strictly plan ;o)

To my Swap Mama: I think you did a really good job matching up partners!
My partner admired a throw quilt in a particular pattern on flickr in a particular range of colors.
Turns out - the fabrics? I have an untouched charm pack of the exact ones. One of two charm packs I've bought, ever. And the pattern? Yup, I happen to have that, too. So, if I'm to take a cue from her favorites and her stated preferences, she'll get exactly the quilt she wants! In roughly 1/3 scale, of course. Can't wait to get started.
Might be tough to post WIP pics, though, without her getting suspicious. Maybe I'll just post sneak peaks this time.......

I'm doing a bit of everything - dreaming, planning, almost starting...I think I know what I'm doing, I think but that doesn't mean it'll end up as what it started out as!!!! I know what I want to get into my quilt for my partner, I know the things she likes and have scoured her favourites for clues!

I've only had the time to plan it out. Mine is going to be a Hawaiian quilt. I've cut up numerous sheets of paper to try out my own designs; didn't take photos though. The applique fabric is going to come from stash and I may have to go out and buy light background fabric. Any excuse to go fabric shopping! :)

Haven't started yet. Don't know what to do!!?? Going to Buffalo on Sunday to get some fabricso maybe will get some ideas once i have the fabric in hand. My partner asked for a speific colour choice so don't want to disappoint her.

My daughter was sorting through her fabrics and getting things organized in her sewing area while I was visiting. She had a ziploc bag of little pieces that she got at a thrift store for 15 cents and she gave it tom me and I think it could just be my quilt. I need to finish my mini swap quilt and then I can play with these and see if it will work out as well as it does in my head!

oh man! for the past 2 days i've been trying to figure out this pattern and for the life of me i can't get a hang of foundation piecing the thing!
i spent an hour tonight searching the internets for ideas and i finally came up with something! using my same design as before i've tweaked it some and made it more whimsicle (and much easier)!

I have my idea and I think this could very well be the first swap that I don't run out to buy fabric for the idea! Which means that I'm acquiring quite the little stash going on here. I blame so many of you!! There is a plus side to being single ladies, no one to account for all the fabric buying. I can ponder loaf of bread or fat quarters...hmmm tough decision...I'll go with the fat quarters. :D

I've got gallons of fabric in one of the three styles that my partner has said she likes, but they've only given me three words to work with in their email of likes and dislikes.
And my partner has a blog..... but I am having trouble getting ideas from there too!

My partner only offered a few words about her preferences, which are quite different from mine. So I went down to the quilt store Saturday morning and got some fabric. There was not a lot of choice in this style, but enough to get me started. And start I did, as I was bursting with ideas. I have the main part of the quilt top done, and that is a good feeling.

I have to get a wedding out of the way and 2 more flower girl dresses. The wedding is June 28, eek!!! I found out late that I was responcible for my girls dresses and my nieces. GONG, GONG!!! Also I have to fill an order for some totes for a coffee house (I'm sooo lazy this month!). BUT I have an unwavering plan and the material. I mean loads, I could do my own swap!!! I'm such a pack rat:). So I am not worried!

I have my partner now! YAY!
I have a good list of likes, but have no idea how to transform that into something she will love!
I can't even decide on a pattern, let alone work out fabric!
I'll be stopping at my local fabric store tomorrow, so hopefully I can find some fabric to suit and the rest will flow from there! :o)

I've started. I had one idea, but got a better one. Now I have gathered fabrics, and have started sewing. I am very excited. I can't show fabrics, because my swap partner only included the colors she likes, and I don't want to give away the surprise.

I have two groups of fabrics I'm working with now and have posted pics in the photo pool of them. I have my pattern, and of course it has a block I've not made before.... but challenge is a good thing! I'm using the centre and a few centre rows of a large quilt, so that I keep to the DQS measurement requirement.

Oooh, Rebecca, would you pretty please hold off on sending your quilt out? Just to prolong the sweet agony and morbid joy of everyone not knowing and wondering who their partners are. I know that receiving your sweet quilt will bring an elation of a totally different and wonderful kind, but since I know whom you're sending to, I know it won't take 2 months to get there ;o)
