About The Writings on the Walls

This group will provide a pool of photographs which will be used to publicise the architectural graffiti displayed on the walls of various buildings within the Chatham Historic Dockyard.
The graffiti dates back to 1788 and contains regimental titles and names of serving men through the years. The CHD Trust will also be using the images as they see fit as the basis of an on-line exhibition of the subject.
Anyone who visits the Dockyard and finds examples of graffiti can deposit their images in the pool with, perhaps, a rough idea where they were taken.
