Selby to Hull line.

As you get to Howden you pass by what used to be the line from Goole to Market Rasen or somewhere.

The bridge has been removed. However, further along the line just before Gilberdyke, there is a road that crosses the line at the same angle as the South Howden line. It looks as if the bridge was dismantled, widened and reused for this road.

Can anyone please confirm this? The bridge looks to be an old railway bridge, probably from the Hull and Barnsley Railway.

Hi, i think the bridge you are referring to is Slipper Bridge about 1 mile west of Gilberdyke but i doubt it would have been from the h&b as it would have still been running when Slipper Bridge was built.

Thanks Monty for the information, we all thought it was the old line from Goole that went over the top at Howden (now dusused). The angle is right and it does look like a railway bridge.
