Designing visual communication that "comments" on social matters, is something that the global design comminity is on for some years now.

The Greek Graphic Designers Association (GGDA), is not only embracing that greater interest, but also supporting and promoting the Greek social design, by introducing the "Creative Waves" series of events.

GGDA is addressing a call to the members of the design community, to design a poster on any of the global issues proposed by the GGDA board and submit their works to this website.

GGDA will be showcasing the submitted works, initially, within this website and at a later time through exhibitions or publications. We stronly believe that this series of events will be providing a strong motive to public administration and organisations for getting those posters out to the street where they originally should be.

Our first exhibition titled "Freedom" was first open during February 2009, as a parallel event of the Athens Design Walk and will be re-opening around mid-June 2009 in the city of Volos.
