About Digital Zeitgeist

Zeitgeist is a wonderful little word that conveys capturing the spirit of a particular time or generation. Certain periods are wonderfully evocative, conjuring up vivid cultural, spiritual, intellectual and moral mementos the moment they are mentioned. The 40's, the 60's, medieval times, the Roman empire, the stone age: each of these "ages" has it's own alchemy, a particular set of characteristics and feelings forged in our souls.

This group is an invitation to share a picture or a piece of personal art you've created that speaks to the time we are living in now, and how it is shaped by the digital mediums that we use to communicate, connect and create relationships with each other and the world around us. These pics should be instantly evocative, visually telling a story about something that defines the adventures and sensibilities of "the age of ... ?"

What age are we living in, and how can you best represent that in a picture or two?

Touchstone: this is more about inviting pause to reflect than it is about volume, like the art of eating slowly and taking the time to savour every single bite. Before adding your shot to this group ask yourself if it captures something instrinsically bound to the digital incarnation of our lives in this day and age. Is it something that uniquely captures the spirit of our time? Bonus points for a little storytelling along the way ~winks~
