29 Aug 09 - Thanks for all the great photos to date - there are some truly fantastic shots here. I have added a 3 per day limit to the group to avoid 'pool dumping' - it's been relatively rare in this group so far but I think it encourages a little more thought into selecting which photos you'd like to share. This is about as far as I want to regulate things..

AND PLEASE! There's only one rule here so it should be easy to follow - nothing man made, this is about nature found in the desert.

I wanted to create a truly open group for desert scenes from around the world ... open to anyone, no invitation necessary ...

I would like the photos to reflect the outstanding beauty and variety of nature in the desert rather than man-made scenes, so please, nothing man-made including shots of you or your mates posing in the sand, or your car, or a road or .....

Just importantly, I would like to relfect the outstanding variety of deserts around the world - hot, cold, high, low, equatorial, polar .... from the dunes of Morocco to the stony plains of Mongolia, from the coloured pillars of Wadi Rum to skyscraping rainbow valleys of the Atacama, lets have it!

One final request that we avoid pictures of your family and friends posing in the desert - that's not what this group is about.
