About Derwent Valley Mills

The Derwent Valley Mills in Derbyshire, UK is a World Heritage Site. It runs for 15 miles down the river valley from Matlock Bath to Derby.

World Heritage Sites are places of Outstanding Universal Value to Humanity. The list includes 851 properties from around the World. whc.unesco.org/en/list/ There are 26 World Heritage Sites in the United Kingdom.

The Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site is made up of the following:

3. Willersley Castle
4. Cromford Mill
5. St. Mary's Church
6. Cromford Canal
7. High Peak Junction Workshops
8. Leawood Pumphouse
9. John Smedley's Mill
10. Belper River Gardens
11. Strutt's North Mill
12. Belper
13. Milford
14. Darley Abbey
15. Darley Park
16. The Silk Mill
17. Derby Museum & Art Gallery
