About The Denver Photo Martini Club

The Photo Martini Club was started over 3 years ago by founder, Andrea Sowell. It was her desire to take pictures for a purpose, opposed to clicking away at family functions and purdy hikes. So, one night over martinis with a couple of friends, she discussed how she missed the challenge of being given an "assignment," as before, back in her college days. They encouraged her to follow her dream of starting the club, and so, that night over martinis, the birth of a club began.


What is the Photo Martini Club?
Over 300 people strong and growing with professional and novice photographers alike. It doesn't matter who you are, as long as you have the desire to create! Each photographer can shoot in any photography medium ranging from Polaroid's to digital imagery... the possibilities are endless! Go ahead, grab that Brownie Camera from your Grandmother's attic. We dare you.

The force that drives the club is not only creativity but the shows they produce. Each show has a different topic which the club votes on as a whole. We've had over a dozen shows since our inception, such as; Change, Rhythm, The Art of the Everyday, In the Spirit of Jack Kerouac, Nightlife, Colors, Frank!, Non-Figurative-Self-Portraits, Voyeurism, and Artopia. Each of the artists work has debuted the night of the show where friends, family and fellow photographers can view individual interpretations. It's always so exciting to, not only show off your own work, but to see what your comrades have produced.
We accompany the photography with inexpensive martinis and free appetizers for our guests. We have also been known to throw in a belly dancer, tarot card readers, massage therapists, DJ's and many other entertaining vices for our guests pleasure.
