About THE SERVANTS AND HANDMAIDS OF OUR LADY OF THE PILLAR
On April 19, 2009 the Servants and Handmaids of Our Lady of the Pillar was founded, the proposal for the creation of a group dedicated to the propagation of the Devotion to the Virgen del Pilar, Patroness of the Diocese of Imus, Cavite was given approval by then Parish Priest Reverend Father Redentor Corpuz during the Parish Pastoral Council for that month.
However it must be noted that even more than a year before the official approval of the group as a legitimate Parish Organization, the group has already been started by a few devotees of the Virgin who would sometimes get together and discuss their plans for the devotion to the Virgen del Pilar.
Today, the Servants and Handmaids of Our Lady of the Pillar, more commonly known in the Cathedral Parish of Our Lady of the Pillar as SHOLP stays true to its objective of making the devotion to the Virgen del Pilar known not only in Imus and Cavite in which she has already shown her Maternal Love and Protection for the past 388 years, but also to places outside the province.
On April 19, 2011 as part of the Celebrations of the second anniversary of the Founding of the Group, The Official Pilgrim Image of the group will be blessed and the Image will immediately be scheduled for visitation to various houses in various places in Cavite.
